Shumen Industrial Park is designated as a new industrial zone and is included in the scope of the new General Urban Plan of Shumen. Shumen Industrial Park is an entirely new settlement established by Decision No. 569/24.02.2010 of the Shumen Municipal Council. A site for change of use has been designated for the settlement by Decision No. KZZ – 11/21.09.2010, with the use of each plot being changed individually through a step-by-step procedure prior to sale to an investor. All plots are sold to investors with urbanised status. A detailed urban plan has been drawn up for the entire territory of the industrial zone, approved by Decision No. 570/24.02.2010 of the Shumen Municipal Council.

The idea of creating a multifunctional business park near Shumen that would meet the needs and standards of potential investors has been around since 2006, when the city administration proposed the construction of a High-Tech Park – Shumen. In 2008, however, a decision was made to lay the foundations for something much more ambitious, combining different industries and reflecting the multifunctionality of modern business – the Shumen Industrial Park.

The project envisages the construction of a logistics, commercial, and industrial park in the Shumen area. It will meet the needs not only of the city itself but also of the entire northeastern region. The foundations of Industrial Park Shumen AD were laid on September 25, 2008, when the Municipality of Shumen and the private company NIKI-BT AD signed an agreement to establish a joint-stock company with the aim of building the new industrial image of Shumen.

The Municipality of Shumen, which is a legal entity under the laws of the Republic of Bulgaria, is located in the central part of northeastern Bulgaria. The priorities of the local government include meeting the needs of citizens and legal entities, increasing the competitiveness of economic entities, and attracting new investments.

NIKI-BT AD, for its part, is a joint-stock company with an established position and many years of experience in international trade and investment project management.

The two parties have succeeded in imposing their progressive ideas and will jointly participate in the construction and operation of the Shumen Industrial Park.

The capital of the newly created company, amounting to BGN 9,935,000, consists of a non-monetary contribution (in-kind contribution) made by the Municipality of Shumen and a monetary contribution made by the private partner.
