The Centre of Competence in Personalised Medicine, 3D and Telemedicine, Robotic and Minimally Invasive Surgery, has a clear vision and priorities for development. Building a competitive European centre with powerful research potential, high-tech equipment and a centre for data storage, processing and analysis. The centre should become a research infrastructure that will carry out business-oriented research at world level and contribute to the development of the competitiveness of the Bulgarian and European economy.
The project proposal develops a new phase of the centre's scientific programme, while maintaining the focus on the 4 existing work packages (WPs):
- WP - 1 - Personalized Medicine with emphasis on Precision Pathology and Oncogenetics
- WP - 2 - 3D Medicine with emphasis on bioprinting and tissue engineering
- WP - 3 - Minimally Invasive Surgery with emphasis on telemedicine, introduction of new surgical methods and training of young specialists
- WP - 4 - Robotic surgery with emphasis on the introduction of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, the introduction of new surgical methods and the training of young specialists.
Through the implementation of the scientific programme, the CoC will ensure sustainable development in the field of research, innovation, knowledge and technology transfer in the field of personalised medicine, 3D and telemedicine, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, carrying out research activities with high social responsibility, actively participating in the business environment, but also initiating debates at all levels to improve and develop health policies.
